How to flush your DNS cache?

If you are coming to Hostseoit from another hosting company, you may be required to clear your DNS Cache or you may be resolving back to your former host. This may not work all the time but helps most of the time. You might still have to wait out DNS propagation. The instructions to do this are as follows.

Microsoft Windows

  1. Open A Command Prompt by clicking Start and “Run”, Type in “cmd” and press enter. On Windows 7, you may type “Command Prompt” in the search bar.
  2. Type “ipconfig /flushdns” at the prompt, followed by the Enter Key. DO NOT Include the Quotes.
  3. Reboot Your Computer.

Macintosh OS X

  1. Open a terminal session, by searching for “Terminal” in the spotlight. (Top right-hand corner)
  2. Type “dscacheutil -flushcache” at the prompt, followed by the Enter key. Do NOT include the quotes.
  3. Reboot your computer.
